About Me

My name is Nathan Millican and I am a believer in Jesus. Lauren calls me husband and Lucianne, Lydia, and Samuel call me dad. I am the Pastor-Teacher at Oak Park Baptist Church, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. I earned a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Kentucky, an M.Div. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and I’m finishing up a D.Min at Southern Seminary as well.

I’m certain this blog won’t offer any profound insights or statements; it’s merely going to be a venue for me to put my thoughts on “paper.” I’ve always found that I think through issues more thoroughly when I actually have to articulate them into sentences and then paragraphs. This blog will consist of my thoughts and interactions with things that I love:  Jesus, my family, current books I’m reading, and miscellaneous thoughts about any number of things. What this blog will not be is a venue for me to share vehement disagreements with theological systems, issues or people that I may or may not have; there’s enough of that already out there and I truly don’t want to be a part of that. For those of you who are still reading, thanks!

One of the main goals of the Alliance is to unite the church, and to speak with one voice on behalf of the orphan. We have really appreciated some of your blog posts on this topic and I would love to talk with you further via email about working together in the future. 4. Awesome, we have some friends working in that area. We’re in Niger, West Africa, working among the Hausa people. We’re in our apprentice term right now and have a little over a year to go before going stateside again. I was here for 2 years right after college and met my wife here. She was here before me, and our terms just barely overlapped. When I finished, I went back home for a bit then to seminary at Midwestern where she was attending. We married after my first semester and have been back here since Jan. 2010. We have three kids 5, 2.5, and 3 mos. That’s the short version. I think you’ve got my email and website, so do keep in touch.
